Why CubeSats?

I am a high school student who has always been interested in technology and space. Like many others, I have been inspired by missions into space. When I found out about the NASA CubeSat Launch Initiative, I recognized this is a great opportunity for anyone from the public to have a chance at connecting with space in a very real sense. I started on this path of learning about CubeSats, forming a network, finding collaborators and mentors and identifying a project that was a good fit for me. Initially, this seemed like a daunting project to get started on. But, connecting with other enthusiasts at the CubeSat Developer’s Conference was a key turning point in building that confidence to give it a go. I have decided to chronicle the phases of my work because I would like to connect with other enthusiasts and document my journey as I make my way through this project. It’s a hard climb to the peak and you never know if you will get there, but for now, I am enjoying the journey!
